We live on the countryside about 25 km outside the city of Umea in the very north of Sweden. The house is built in two stages and the newer part is buit in 1993. We moved here in 1997.

Some 20 meters behind our house is the small lake called Martenlake. Thereof the name Martenlake's kennel. The lake is rather small and there are some summer cottages around it. 400 meters from our house is a stream called Ilforsen. The part that runs by our house is quite "streamy" and therefor it is popular for fishing. The woods surranding our house is mostly dry and good for such activities as tracking, searching or just go for a walk.

All our dogs are treated like members of the family. That is that they eat and sleep indoors with us, naturally our puppies do the same. We have a very close relationship with our dogs.

Our first Leonberger was born in 1994 and the kennelname was approved by FCI in the year of 2000. We had our first litter in 2001 and we name the litters with a prefix instead of a specific letter. For example; all the puppies from Mayah is called "Mojo" and then a theme for the litter.
